Basildon defeat Brave Belhus Girls

October 20, 2006

Belhus Girls 24 all out
Basildon and Pitsea U14 25-1

All five Basildon and Pitsea bowlers were among the wickets in this five-wicket victory over Belhus Girls in the South Essex District Cricket Board's indoor youth six a side competition at Grays School. Sam Cordell bowled Amy Squires to finish with 1-9 from two overs, while Andrew Santry took 1-5 from one over, with Ashleigh Hall being his wicket. Rob Barber then completed a tidy two-over spell, finishing with 1-3, after bowling Sarah Webb. Sam Ward's 2-4 accounted for debutant Clara-Jane Smith and Libby Cansdale, while Adam Frost eventually ended some fine resistance from Kajal Chopra to finish with one wicket from just three deliveries. Webb then moved swiftly to her left to take a fine catch off her own bowling to dismiss Santry for five runs, finishing with 1-11 from 1.5 overs. However, it was left to Dean Parkinson and Frost to remain undefeated to gain victory for the Basildon and Pitsea team.
