Belhus chalked up a fine Lord's International league division three victory at Ockendon Recreation ground on Saturday. Danny Norris top scored in the home innings with a fine 36 and there was valuable support from Charaka Sumanasekara 10, Michael Anderson 18, Ryan Lucas 12 and Darren Wells, undefeated on 18. Wells then turned his attention to the ball where he promptly removed four visiting batsmen, Coates, Davis, Collier and Jones to end with 4-10 from nine overs which included three maidens. Sumanasekara took 2-4 from three overs while Norris also completed a fine all-round performance with three wickets for just four runs from 2.4 overs. The Belhus fielding was good with catches being taken by Harry Levy, Daniel Dreher, Sumanasekara, Anderson, with the final Hornchurch wicket falling when Jim Robertson safely pouched a high catch at slip to dismiss last man Edwards off the bowling of Norris.
For the visitors, only number eight batsman G. Coates reached double figures with an undefeated 28, though earlier in the day Edwards took 3-27 from seven overs (one maiden) while J. Coates took 2-7 from 7.1 overs which included four maidens. G. Coates, Doyle and Walker took one wicket apiece.
