Belhus Cricket Club Events
Fantasy 2008
As most of you know I set up Fantasy 2008, to be a practice for the intended 2009 full Season Fantasy.
This season sees selected players to get the thing up and running, next year I intend to run a combined Fantasy, one for Seniors and one for the u/18.
it will run in line with the league season, so by the time we start all players should have have some games under their belt.

BBQ TO SUPPORT YOUTH TOUR
Belhus will be having a BBQ on Friday July 11th from 6.30PM. All proceeds will go towards supporting the Youth Tour to Sussex 11-15th August 2008. Please support this event.

BELHUS CELEBRATE SHEPHERD NEAME 31/5
Belhus Cricket Club will have a BBQ this Saturday evening (31st May) after the completion of the League games to celebrate our acceptence into the Shepherd Neame Essex Cricket League as from 2009. All members and their guests welcome. This is a great acheivement by the club and a way of recognising the enormous amount of effort by both the Committeee and Members of the Club.

BELHUS CC YOUTH TOUR OF SUSSEX 2008
The Belhus CC Youth Tour of Sussex 2008 will take place from Monday 11th August until Friday 15th August, both days inclusive.
Members are invited to contact Cliff Cansdale so that the tour party and contact list can be established.

Ongoing assistance at North Stifford
Even though a huge effort has gone into making the North Stifford Ground looks and plays the part, it will not stay that way. A continued effort will be needed to maintain the level we expect. If you can help in the department we will be glad to receive any help you offer.

Adult fixture added on to Sussex Youth Tour
Owing to the unprecedented support for the Belhus CC Youth Tour of Sussex 2007, an additional fixture has been arranged, which will involve playing a combined seniors and juniors team from the tour party. The match will take place at Eastergate CC near Chichester in West Sussex. For more details on the Sussex Youth Tour, please see separate item.
Praise for Belhus Volunteers
Volunteers from Belhus Cricket Club have been praised for assisting with a Thurrock Primary School's girls kwik cricket tournament which was staged by Thurrock Council's Sport and Leisure Department in association with William Edwards Sports College on Tuesday (2nd May 2006). Volunteers from Belhus CC were U15 team members Michael Fogg, Gavin Jefferies and Bradley Sheridan with Lisa Cansdale acting as scorer. The event was on by Stifford Clays Junior School, who now go on to represent Thurrock in the Essex Youth Games, to be held at Garons Leisure Park in Southend on Saturday 17th June (2006). Both Nicole Napier, sports and leisure officer from Thurrock Council and Cliff Cansdale, hon. youth chairman of Belhus CC have expressed their thanks for the volunteers for giving up their spare time to assist. "Bradley, Gavin and Michael are a credit to their parents and their school for their tremendous support they have given. Thurrock Council will be providing evidence of their community involvement for use towards their assessment for the GCSE in Physical Education", said Cliff Cansdale.

With the season under away, we now turn our attention to getting stuck into our matches. It's time to put the hard labour behind us and look towards what will surely be a great season.
A lot of work has gone into the club over the winter, going by this it's sure to be a good season all round.
